I needed two of these, one for me and one for my son. I finally narrowed it down to this one and a different one, so I ordered one of each. This is by far my favorite. It fits my hand perfectly, cuts braided and mono line with ease and I really like the fact the sheath on this one because it clips on your belt, and the clip swivels. This alone is a big advantage over the other one. Of course, I will keep this one and give the other one to my son. 🙂

Pliers are underappreciated when fishing. Cheap ones tend to be loose which can be a real pain with certain tasks, such as split rings. You can spend an arm and a leg on high-end pliers that will last a lifetime, but the people carrying those tend to either be professionals or have lots of disposable income. The rest of us have to look a bit harder to find the right balance of quality and price. I must say I was very surprised by the quality of these, especially at this price point. No slop in the movement and they do the fine cutting.

Really solid item for the price. Last fishing trip I went on with my dad I kept borrowing his needle-nose pliers to get the hook out, and to cut the line I was using a nail clipper in my tackle box since that seemed to be the only thing that would cut the spiderwire without fraying the line.
